On July 1, 2006 a flag terrace was created
in front of the Cemetery featuring the U.S., S.C. and Christian flags.
On Sunday July 2,2006 Mr. and Mrs. Joe Beale pose with the flags. Joe
was the former pastor for Longtown Presbyterian for many years.
In the old part of the Cemetery flies the
first National flag of the Confederate States of America. Our church was
built by former Confederate Soldiers and many are buried in the old
section of Longtown Cemetery. This is their honor.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me;
for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your
souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
